Custom Utility Shed Under Raised HVAC Platform

To maximize space at our beach house, we transformed the unused area beneath the elevated AC condenser platform into a fully functional utility shed. Built with pressure-treated framing and ZIP System sheathing for weather resistance, the shed is custom-fit into the footprint of the raised platform and designed to blend seamlessly with the home’s exterior.

We constructed a sturdy subfloor, framed and insulated the walls, and finished it with matching vinyl siding and a secure exterior door. A corrugated roof panel was added beneath the AC platform for rain protection. Inside, the shed provides organized storage for lawn tools, outdoor equipment, and seasonal items—with vertical storage, peg hooks, and shelves making the most of the compact footprint.

Electrical was added post-construction to support lighting and future power tool use, making this a perfect multi-season storage solution for any coastal property where space is at a premium.
